Highland 2023

We are glad you were part of Highland in 2023! Our year was filled with public programs about history and the Highland property, student research projects, and descendant collaboration. We taught William & Mary students and K-12 teachers, and collaborated with international scholars. We deepened our commitment to appreciating our natural environment and its connection to history and invited many hikers and program participants to enjoy expanded segments of the Highland Rustic Trails. We presented our work at national conferences and in specialist workshops, and participated in scholarly and public conversations about history and memory. Most exciting for our visitors, we have installed the first components of our newest exhibition, Window to a New America

We have been bolstered by  our friends, supporters, tremendous volunteers, and the great successes of making connections and continuing learning.

Thank you for helping to make Highland the exciting place that it is, filled with bold plans in public history.
