Welcome Back!
It has been wonderful to welcome the children back for the new academic year - what a delight they have been. The children have settled well in their new classes and have been excellent at following the school rules 'Be Kind, Be Ready, Be Respectful.' As with every school academic year, it's going to be a busy (yet exciting) one, with so many things to look forward to and endless opportunities for the children to thrive on their learning journey. We are looking forward to achieving great things this year - 'Together we will Grow and Shine!'
Please continue to check the Chronicle for important information and dates for the diary. Please be aware all dates are subject to change.

Welcome to the Team!
We would like to officially welcome Mrs Glencross to the High Cross team. Mrs Glencross is teaching in Reception and she is also a member of the Senior Leader Team.
We are delighted to inform you that in a recent inspection of our school canteen carried out by a food safety officer who assesses how well we are meeting the requirements of food hygiene law, we have been awared the highest rating which is 5. Congratulations to our canteen staff who work so hard to achieve this.
After school clubs will commence on Monday 22nd September 2025. A club timetable with booking links was sent out earlier this week. Please complete the forms by 12pm on Monday 15th September if your child would like to attend one of the clubs. Where clubs have a maximum number of spaces, you will be informed on Monday 15th September whether or not your child has secured a place in the club(s). If your child does not secure a place in a particular club, we will keep their name on the waiting list. We will be reviewing our after school clubs offer for the Spring Term.
Year 5 Swimming
Year 5 are thoroughly enjoying their 3 week intensive swimming programme with only a week to go. The children are all making super progress and have put 100% into every lesson. We have had such compliments from the staff on both their ability and their behaviour. They certainly are impressive representatives of High Cross. Da iawn Year 5!
On Wednesday Miss Morris led an assembly to introduce the pupil voice groups for this year, ensuring that all our pupils are aware of the importance of being heard within our school community. Today they had the opportunity to put their name forward to represent their peers in one of the groups. We look forward to introducing them shorttly.

School Uniform - REMINDER
In-line with our uniform policy, please ensure your child wears PLAIN, BLACK footwear. Since returning back to school this academic year, it has been noticed that some children are wearing inappropriate footwear.
Children are required to wear their PE kit to school two days a week (excluding nursery). With this in mind it is important that children wear the correct PE kit, which is: navy shorts or jogging bottoms, a royal blue polo t-shirt (with or without the school logo), their school jumper/cardigan and trainers.
