Remote Physical Education

Hello and welcome to Ms. Williamson’s physical education class this year! In the Spring we started remote Physical Education and we all know it is new, ever changing, and confusing at times. This year we are using a new platform called Schoology to communicate and do our assignments. I will do my best to make it as easy for you as possible, and I ask that you do your best to participate in the lessons to the best of your ability. As most of you know, I always say the only way to get better at something is to…. PRACTICE! So practice we will.

This year we will be participating in a variety of units. To give you an idea of what to expect, we will start with Fitness for three weeks. The next unit will be“Backyard Games” and then Soccer. Below you will find a list of equipment. While each unit is different, some equipment you will be able to use again, and some units you will get creative and find things around the house to use. It is suggested to have the following equipment handy to participate in Physical Education:

• Balloons (you will need these for different units, so it would be best to have multiple)

• A Frisbee

• A ball you can kick (for soccer)

• A ball that bounces (for basketball and volleyball)

• Some kind of stick (broom, pool noodle, hockey stick)

• Small ball (to throw and hit with your stick)

• Chalk

When logging into Schoology, you will have the opportunity to enter your Physical Education course. Your classroom teacher will direct you to do so to complete your PE assignments. Kindergarten through Third grade students are required to participate two times each week. Fourth and Fifth grade students are required to participate three times each week. When participating please remember to get parent permission when going outside. Perform activities safely and with your best effort!
