Nuestras vacaciones de primavera es entre el 9 y el 17 de abril de 2020. Durante estas fechas, no habrá instrucción de forma remota. Los estudiantes y el personal regresarán a la escuela el 20 de abril de 2020 a menos que recibamos otra orden de cierre del Gobernador y entonces la instrucción de forma remota se reanudará. New SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL APRIL 15.
As per Governor Cuomo, schools will be closed until April 15. Remote instruction will now continue until April 8, 2020. From April 9-17, 2020 our spring break will be in effect. On these dates, no remote instruction will occur. Students and staff will return to school April 20, 2020 unless we receive another order of closure from the Governor and then remote instruction will resume. Please continue to visit the District website for updates
**Please check your Seesaw and Raz Kids assignments each day.
**** Here are directions for adding a picture with writing and voice recording using the Seesaw app.
1. Tap the Add button (the white + sign in the green circle at the top).
2. Tap the Drawing button (look for the pencil).
3. After reading a book using Raz Kids, draw a picture and write about the book. Use the T on the left to type your words or write them with a pencil.
4. You can use the microphone under the T to record your voice.
5. Tap the white check mark in the green circle on the top right corner to send your work to me.
Altice (formerly Cablevision) is offering a free internet product for households currently without Internet access. If your household is eligible and interested in enrolling, parents are asked to call 866-200-9522. Through the prompts, select New Customer / New Service / New Internet.

Grab & Go Food Program - Starting Tuesday, March 17th, Grab & Go Breakfast and Lunch will be available to anyone under the age of 18 from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm at the following locations: Hicksville Middle School, Burns, East , & OCR.

While school is not open, I'd like to share some ideas for your child to do at home. ***If you haven't picked up an envelope of information and activities from school, please go to East Street school any day between 8 am and 12 pm. The envelopes are located at the main entrance.

-Download the Kids A-Z app to use Raz Kids reading program. Choose or enter teacher username kstehle2. Your child's name will appear with others. Choose the name and click the picture of the apple. I will assign books for your child to read. He/or She can even record his/his voice reading the book! I will check this assignment every day.
-Download the Seesaw app. There is a student log in QR code and a parent log in QR code in the envelopes you picked up from school. I will update activities daily. Tap the Activities button on the right (look for the picture of a lightbulb). Choose any assignment and tap the Add Response button (look for those words in a green rectangle. Once your child is finished, tap the check mark in the green circle to send it to me.
