Notice of Public Hearing on Volunteer Firefighters
and Ambulance Workers Tax Exemption

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 466-a of the Real Property Tax Law, the Board of Education of the Hicksville Union Free School District will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. at Hicksville Public Schools Administration Building, 200 Division Avenue, Hicksville, NY  11801.  The purpose of this public hearing is to provide an opportunity for interested parties and citizens to be heard regarding a proposed resolution to adopt an exemption of school taxes of up to 10% of the assessed value of the primary residence of qualifying volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers who reside and serve within the District.


As of October 19, 2022 both in-person and virtual attendees may provide public comment.  To address the Board during one of the two General Public portions of the meeting please see the community participation section below.
