Amy baker

Ms. Amy Baker is the Assistant Principal of Hickory High School. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Printmaking from UNC-Charlotte and her Master’s of Educational Leadership at Gardner-Webb University. This is the start of Ms. Baker's 4th year with Hickory High School and Hickory Public Schools. Ms. Baker began her career with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools from 2004-2017 where she has received her National Board Certification and has held the following positions during her tenure with the school system: Teacher, Instructional Accountability Facilitator and Dean of Students.

Throughout her career, she has experienced a wide range of professional development opportunities and is passionate about being a lifelong learner. Ms. Baker takes pride in cultivating an environment of coaching and building successful teachers as they prepare our students to become career and college ready. Ms. Baker wants every student at Hickory High School to feel welcomed and expected as they are prepared and empowered to become culturally competent and successfully global productive citizens.
