About Me

Hi!

I'm Gena Barnhardt and I've been teaching at Hickory High School since 1987 - science and technology are a passion of mine so I am excited to convey my love of science to my students! All course content is delivered through the LMS platform and students and parents are asked to sign up for REMIND for important updates.

I graduated from Converse College with a BA in Chemistry and MEd in Secondary Science Education. I attained National Board Certification in AYA Science- Biology in 1999, and have served as an AP Reader for Biology since 2006. When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, and my Pomeranian puppy, Buddy.
