My name is Cara Zell and this is my eigth year teaching at Hickory High. I have a BA in Political Science from Purdue University with a Minor in Spanish. I then obtained my teaching licensure through Lenoir-Rhyne University in Spanish K-12, Elementary Ed, and Exceptional Children. Before teaching, I worked at Catawba Science Center and at Centro Latino of Hickory in the after school tutoring program. I studied abroad in the Dominican Republic at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), where I stayed with a family and attended classes. Fun fact: tarantulas will enter through your window in the DR when it rains at night. :-)

I love teaching at HHS because the students bring so much energy. Just like I am always challenging them, they get me thinking with the conversations we have.
