Pastoral System

Hawarden High School has House system, with a Head of House, Deputy and Assistant Head of House and seven or eight Group Tutors. You will work best when you feel happy and safe and it is the role of the House team to support you with removing any barriers to feeling this way. You will have a Form Tutor who you will see each morning in registration and PSE lessons. Whilst the Heads of House and Deputy Heads of House are teachers the Assistant Heads of House are non-teaching staff and available to support throughout the school day. Everything in school revolves around the House system, with the House Point Competition, Eisteddfod and Sports Day all being competed for between houses.

Our House names reflect the identity and history of Hawarden High School. Each House usually has an assembly every week, and we also have some Year Group assemblies as well.
