Welcome to our transition website for the intake of 2024. Some of the tours and features were recorded over the last few years, where we have not been able to welcome pupils and their parents/ carers to the school. We are so pleased that face-to-face transition days are now the norm again in school, along with the parent/ carer information evening but we continue to offer the information on this site as a supplementary source of help and guidance.

We have a house system at Hawarden High School with four houses, just like in Harry Potter. Our houses consist of Ty Deiniol, Ty Gladstone, Ty Glynne and Ty Ledsham. Each house is led by a Head of House with a Deputy Head of House and an Assistant Head of House to support. The key person for you will be your Form Tutor who will help to make the move from Primary School to Secondary School as smooth as possible.
