Founded in 2016, the Hāna Chapter serves farmers in the East Maui moku of Hāna, Kīpahulu, Kaupō and Ko‘olau (including Ke‘aneae/Wailuanui and Nāhiku).
With its remote location, East Maui relies on a self-sufficient agricultural lifestyle, with abundant production of vegetable crops and fruit orchards, as well traditional taro farming. The opportunities and challenges are unique for East Maui farmers, and we welcome everyone to join the chapter to share knowledge and experience, and work together to support the needs of our farmers.
Hāna Chapter is one of 16 local chapters of the Hawai‘i Farmers Union, which is a state organization chartered under the National Farmers Union.
The Hāna Farmers Market is a project of the Hāna Chapter.
Local produce, fish, value-added products and much more!
Every Friday from 2:30 to 5:30 in the Hāna Town Center
The chapter is a partner in the design and development of the Hāna Hub, a community certified kitchen and ag processing facility located at 20 Uwala Road in Ka‘eleku.
Hāna Chapter addresses rat lungworm disease prevention and response through the East Maui RLW Task Force, including ratlungworm.info website, and a Facebook group for sharing and discussion.
