Clubs

Every term, we offer a wide range of clubs and activities for our children, and we aim for every child to attend at least one club in the school year - although many of our children attend multiple clubs! Some of these are clubs lead by staff members and others are clubs by local organisations.

Street Dance

Start the week by getting down to some funky dance tunes. Dance club runs on a Monday morning before school. An introduction to street dance children will learn to combine basic moves and techniques to form fun extended routines to well-known tracks.The Club is fun, funky and inclusive, covering a range of different styles. Led by experienced professional dancer and teacher Laurelle Gallimore from Believe performing Arts. Laurelle also runs a Musical Theatre club and Tap. Believe Performing Arts

Musical Theatre

Singing, acting & dance. A fun way to build confidence and explore performing arts. We will study different west end shows, pantomimes and animated films learning song scripts, as well as choreography.

Multi-sports

A mixture of games and sports to encourage all children to be active through a range of activities, led by Southend United community coaches.

Dodgeball

Throw, catch and aim at your opponents with active competitive games led by Miss Hartigan. Dodgeball clubs are offered for year 3/4 and 5/6, please check the current timetable for days. Raise your heart rate and improve your fitness and hand eye coordination with fun competitive dodgeball sessions. Dodgeball fills up very quickly so please book you place earlier to avoid disappointment.

Netball

Led by Mrs Smith qualified level 2 netball coach who helped make Holt Farm league Champions a few years ago. You will learn the rules of Hi five netball and improve your skills in throwing, catching, passing and building on team work. This year we are entering a team into the year 5/6 league.

Football

Girls Football: Thursdays after school with Miss Hartigan. Improve your ball skills and become part of a team. Boys Football: All Year groups - Fridays.Improve your football skills and help us to build a Holt Farm squad with Miss Hartigan

Running

Running club meet Thursday morning before school. We are a dedicated group who turn up come, rain, wind and even snow! Each session consists of circuit training and then a combination of long or short relays, endless relays, interval training, snake runs, running drills, steady paced runs or running games. This year all of our group took part in cross country races. A jam packed session led by Mrs Robinson who sometimes runs for Essex! Children develop their running technique and fitness through games and training sessions designed to improve speed and endurance in fun ways. We will also complete circuit training and play games. Almost all sports require athletes to be fit enough to run so why not come along and help us become district sports champions again!

Athletics

New for the Summer Term. Run, jump and throw at our athletics club led by Mrs Robinson. Challenge yourself to improve your personal bests with practices to improve your fitness through athletic activities. We will pay running games and relays whilst learning techniques of how to throw and jump well. Open to all years.

Gymnastics

An introduction to gymnastics on the floor and on school apparatus. Children have the opportunity to work on key step activities as well as building on skills to create routines and balances on their own and in groups. Led by British Gymnastics coaches Selina and Sophie (Engergize Essex Ltd) children joining this group will be able to improve their gymnastics skills further and learn routines, year 3/4 will be practicing skills and routines that are involved in key steps competitions.

Cricket

New for the summer term is a Cricket club open to all years and both Girls & Boys. Learn how to play Cricket and improve your striking and fielding skills. Our Cricket Club is being led by Brian Pettitt of Rankins cricket club in Staybridge Rankins have a thriving youth section running teams at U9,11,13 & 15 age groups. The club has ECB trained coaches to provide structured cricket training. During the season the training is at our ground on Thursday and Friday evenings.
