Hello! My name is Kelly Nunes. I am ecstatic to be part of Krystal Elementary and look forward to my incoming 4th graders! I have been in education working for Hesperia Unified since 2000. I have been a Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 7th grade teacher, as well as taught ASB and I was an instructional coach (in a nutshell... I trained/taught teachers) for the district for 10 years. This is my sixth year back with 4th grade! Fourth grade is an exciting year with amazing curriculum! I love my team and we strive to do the very best for our students!
I am confident in my instructional practices and growing students to their best potential while instilling responsibility, a growth mindset, and fun! I am trained in a multitude of areas from curriculum... strategies... to technology. I have presented at conferences and trainings for education. I am a Google for Education Certified Trainer among other certifications in Flipgrid, Peardeck, and Breakout EDU.
I am a #boymom (2 boys- Ryder and Parker) and married to my best friend, Cory. Our family is involved with baseball and we love to find the adventure in life! Making memories is what we strive for with friends and family! We enjoy visiting national parks (#nationalparkgeek), MLB stadiums, hiking, camping, campfires, staying active and healthy (the best we can), and have enjoyed traveling the United States and even abroad. When we are not on the ball field or out finding adventure, I enjoy baking, reading, church, finding off the beaten path places and just family & friends time!
