Tuesday, August 5th 4:30-5:30 Back to School Night:  Come meet Mrs. Avalos and Mrs. Green and take a tour of the classroom! You will also get a chance to meet some of your new classmates!

Wednesday, August 6th: First Day of School: Bring a regular-size backpack! No small backpacks and no backpacks with wheels please. Students will need a small nutritious snack AND a lunch daily. No candy or soda. Parents will not be allowed entrance inside classrooms on the 1st day of school so please make sure you come to Back to School Night to tour the classroom the day before school starts.

TK SUPPLY LIST

  • All students will need one regular-sized, sturdy backpack
    (no wheels).

The following items are optional and could be donated to your child’s class
(without their name on it):

  • White Cardstock Paper

  • Computer Paper

  • Crayola Markers (Thin & Thick)

  • Clorox Wipes

  • Glue sticks (jumbo size)

  • Boxes of 8 ct Large Crayons (Crayola only please)

  • Unscented Baby Wipes (for cleaning tables)

  • Boxes of Kleenex

  • Play-Doh 4 Oz.


TK Expectations

Welcome to TK! We’re so happy that you’re here and are excited to support your child’s Early Development and Education. Although the following skills may not be mastered, they should all be practiced in the months prior to starting TK.

  • Getting used to being away from parents.

  • Bathroom Skills:pull down/up clothing, get on and off the toilet, wipe effectively, and flush when done.

  • Properly washing hands and blowing their nose.

  • Change clothes independently in case of potty accidents, without adult assistance.

  • Fastening pants and skirts.

  • Putting on shoes and jackets.

  • Speaking in complete sentences.

  • Writing his/her first name correctly: Capital letter to start, followed by lowercase letters.

  • Knowing colors.

  • Using scissors.


Exposing and practicing these skills with your child will allow for a smoother transition from home to school. Thank you for your support!
