Hi Hampton Bulldogs and Families!
My name is Rachael Trusler, and I’m blessed to serve as Hampton Elementary’s Student Support Coordinator and School Counselor Intern. That means I’m here to help make sure every child feels supported not only in their academics, but also in their social-emotional well-being, mental health, and overall school experience.
I serve children through a holistic approach—looking at all the things that impact their success and well-being. That includes what’s happening at school, at home, and in the community, because I know a child’s learning is connected to every part of their life. In my role, I get to be a listener, problem-solver, encourager, and connector. Some days that looks like teaching students tools to manage big emotions, other days it’s helping them navigate friendships, and sometimes it’s connecting families with resources like food, housing, or counseling services. My job is all about making sure kids have what they need to learn, grow, and truly thrive—both at school and at home.
I graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and am currently working toward my Master of Education in School Counseling (Graduation: Fall 2026). Before joining Hampton in 2021, I spent over 8 years in child welfare, where I learned just how important it is for children to have strong, consistent support systems.
What I love most about Hampton Elementary is our close-knit, small-town feel—where we really know our kids and families. I believe every student is unique, with their own strengths, challenges, and dreams, and I’m passionate about helping them discover just how capable they are.
Parents and guardians—please know my door is always open! Whether you have a concern, need resources, or just want to share something about your child, I’m here to listen and work together. It takes all of us—families, school staff, and the community—working as a team to help our students succeed.
I can’t wait to meet new faces, see our returning Bulldogs, and help make this school year safe, supportive, and full of growth. Go Bulldogs!
