PROJECT LEARNING TARGETS:
I can research key economic concepts with my teammates.
I can collaborate with my team to complete tasks based on my research.
I can use multimedia tools (images, text, audio) to explain economic concepts clearly and creatively.
Your class has been chosen to be contestants on a new survival-based reality show! You have been dropped off on a remote island off the coast of South America and you have signed a contract that says that you may not bring anything with you to the island.
. In order to be the winners, you will need to create an economy that will help you and the inhabitants of the island to survive.
You will be divided into tribes. Each tribe will begin with basic tools and limited resources. You will be asked to create a "survival wish-list"; the producers will take your wishes into consideration.
However, you must EARN the items by completing challenges every week. At the end of this project, the tribe with the most points will be declared the show's winner.
Your tribe will require you to collaborate, make economic decisions, and manage limited resources.
You will need to use teamwork, problem-solving, research and creativity skills.
