Our visit with the Honorary Consulate of Ireland to the Republic of Moldova
By Cristina Railean
On February 19, 2020, Class 5 A and Class 7B were invited to visit Honorary Consulate of Ireland to the Republic of Moldova. The Consulate was hosting an Early Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration with the Irish Ambassador. It was an amazing experience, where everyone learned many new things about Ireland. For example: what the flag of Ireland is representing (Green-Irish People, White – Peace, Orange –British Protestants) or what are the most beautiful places to be visit in Ireland. The visit to the Consulate was a result of our participation in a competition announced by the Consulate. We had to make a creative video for maximum 3 minutes with information about Ireland and Saint Patrick. Most creative teams were invited to the Consulate to meet the Ambassador. The class 5A won 3rd place and the class 7B won the 2nd place. There were a lot of kids from other schools, too. After announcing the places, the Irish Ambassador invited us for a festive meal with lot of sweets that were delicious. All participants received presents. We were very happy to participate in this competition and to have the opportunity to meet so many nice people and the Ambassador of Ireland. We would like to thank the Honorary Consulate of Ireland for the organization of this event.
