Update on Coronavirus

By Georgia Okropiridze

The last couple of weeks were very stressful for many countries because of the rapid spread of coronavirus. According to news reports, twenty-nine countries have been affected by the coronavirus. The total number of cases is now equal to 73,439, the number of deaths to date is 1,875, but, the positive note is that 13,171 people have already recovered.

The media is blasting about a cure that some doctors found in China. The world is not completely sure if the rumors about magical cure are true, or not. For now, we know that one doctor died in Wuhan while trying to create a cure.

The important message we and the world want to spread is that coronavirus should not give us a reason to marginalize or discriminate against people in China. As of now we don’t know how the virus began. Unicef has been posting the importance of kindness in dealing with this virus. Here is a link to help us think about epidemics with kindness.
