Aikman Elementary serves grades Kindergarten - 5th and currently houses around 450 students. Aikman Elementary was built in 1956 and is now 60 years old. The mascot of Aikman Elementary is the Eagle.

Aikman Elementary is a very successful school. We met standards in 2016 and received 5 distinctions!!! Distinctions received were in Academic Achievement in Mathematics, Academic Achievement in Science, Top 25% Student Progress, Top 25% Closing Performance Gaps, and in Postsecondary Readiness.

Our goals are:

1. Aikman Elementary will increase academic achievement for all students and student groups in the core content areas of ELAR, Math, Writing, Science, Social Studies, and all supporting content areas.
2. All Aikman personnel will promote the understanding and involvement of families and community through communication, participation, and partnerships to impact the success of students.
3. Aikman will hire, develop, and retain exceptional employees in a supportive working environment that is reflective of and responsive to the districts student body.
4. Aikman will develop and maintain processes that ensure safe, supportive, effective, and efficient facilities, and operations.
5. Aikman Elementary will attend to and meet the full expectation of improvement plans as per statute.
