Newsletter 06 16th December 2022
We have had a very busy term - it has been wonderful to see the children working so hard and behaving so well. It was also wonderful to see their performances - they have all taken to the stage so well! Thank you to everyone who came to or helped at the Winter Disco. The event was a big success and has raised some money for the school.
I wish you all a very happy and restful break. If you are celebrating, Merry Christmas to you!
I look forward to seeing you all back at school on Wednesday 4th January 2022.

The Friends of Herbert Morrison organised our amazing Winter Disco on 14th December. There was lots of dancing with DJ Harwood, food, drinks, a photo booth, popcorn and Santa Claus popped in! It was lovely to see so many children and adults enjoying themselves. The event raised more than £700, which we will be looking to spend to support the children's education in the New Year. Keep an eye on our newsletters for further events in the new year.
Thank you to all the Friends for organising this event and to all the parents and carers who helped at the event.
Our choir brightened up the faces of the commuters passing through Vauxhall Tube Station on Friday 9th December. The choir were raising money for the charity Health Action Poverty. One of the proud parents told me: 'That was beautiful. I am so impressed with their performance!'
One of the passing commuters told me: 'You should be very proud. Those children are amazing!'
Well done for showing everyone what an amazing school we are!
Each class took turns to present their own Christmas performance to their grown ups, and then again to the rest of the school. It was wonderful to see and hear everyone joining in so enthusiastically! Thank you to all the adults and children in school for working so hard, and to the parents and carers for coming along and joining us.
We are working to make sure that our cabin classroom is refurbished so that it can be used again in the near future. We have worked with an amazing organisation called Match My Project, who have connected us with a range of companies who have carried out work to help us. Tony O'Connell from Hyde Housing has very actively championed our cause! Thank you!
Through Match My Project we have also been able to purchase a whole set of new musical instruments to enhance our music teaching in school. Thank you to Daryl at Cleanscapes, Mitesh at Just Ask Services and Jane & Chichi at Hyde Housing for their support.
If any parents or carers know of any organisations who would like to support any projects at the school, please do let us know. We have lots of ideas for ways to improve the school environment and provision for the children.
Here are a few of the amazing instruments we will be able to use next term!
