The course will give students a comprehensive understanding of ancient history, covering prehistory theories to the fall of the Roman Empire. You will begin by looking at humanity’s origins in prehistory, then examine how events such as the agricultural revolution and the formation of early civilizations helped people develop culturally. We will explore the growth and decline of ancient river valley civilizations. We will go on to examine the growth of civilization in various parts of the world. Finally, students will learn how the fall of the Roman Empire plunged Europe into a period some have labeled “The Dark Ages.”
