Hello OKE families!  My name is Willie Holmes, and I am the Family Engagement Liaison at Oakland Elementary School.  I am very pleased and excited about being appointed as the FEL at Oakland Elementary School.  I have lots of interesting ideas about how to increase family engagement at the school level and how to build strong connections between school staff, communities, and families.  There will be an abundant amount of parent engagement opportunities for the 2024-2025 school year, such as celebrating grandparents, school spirit events, Input meeting, Literacy Night and Annual Title 1 meeting.  These are a few of the events that are being planned, so that you will have ample opportunities to engage with the school staff and to provide input in your child’s learning, that will lead to the ultimate outcome of students and school success.  Please feel free to visit the Parent Resource Center to check out resources that will assist your child with learning in the home environment.
