Hello! I'm Carletta Shade-Jackson!

Hello! My name is Ms. Carletta Shade-Jackson, and I am thrilled to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year. This marks my seventh year at Wesley Lakes Elementary School, where I bring over two decades of experience teaching in both elementary and private school settings. A proud Birmingham native, I’m also a mother of four grown children and a loving "Nana" to four grandchildren. I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama (after starting at Alabama State)—and yes, I’m a devoted football fan (Roll Tide!). When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me reading, listening to music, or channeling my energy into creating a dynamic classroom. As a passionate and hard-working educator, I’m committed to fostering each student’s growth through engaging large and small group activities. Together, we’ll make this year both fun and full of meaningful learning adventures!
