Phillip Ivey

Hi! My name is Phillip Ivey and welcome to The McDonough High School.  I am so excited to be a part of the Warhawk family.  I am a Walton County GA native and a 2007 graduate of Monroe Area High School in Monroe, GA. I graduated in 2011 from Baptist Institute of America with my Bachelor's degree and in May of 2026 with my master's degree in History from Clayton State University. This will be my 13th year in education. I spent six years at Social Circle Middle School, one year at Stockbridge Middle School, and I am now entering my sixth year here at McDonough High School. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I also enjoy coaching. I have coached middle/high school football, middle/high school basketball, and middle/high school golf. I currently serve as the Head Boys and Girls Golf coach here at McDonough High School. In my free time, I enjoy fishing, playing golf, and also cheering for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Atlanta Falcons. I am married to my beautiful wife Hannah, who is also a teacher at Rocky Creek Elementary School. We are proud to be a part of the Henry County Schools family.
