This lesson will take place on campus during your assigned class period. Attendance is required.
Any students who are absent the day of the lab need to make transportation arrangments to do the lab the next Wednesday cafe day from 1:30 to 3:00 pm
Learning Targets:
How does heat energy transfer?
Can I select a material that will slow the transfer of heat?
Standards:
SPS7: Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information to explain transformations and flow of energy within a system.
SPS7.a: Construct explanations for energy transformations within a system.
SPS7.b. Plan and carry out investigations to describe how molecular motion relates to thermal energy changes in terms of conduction, convection, and radiation.
Agenda:
Opening- Read through activity protocol and generate questions
Secure the Foundation- review energy transformation methods and conservation of energy.
Explanation of Activity and Division of Groups
Complete each station's activity, making detailed observations.
Closing- Complete Post-Lab Analysis Questions
