Essential Questions:
What is the relationship between mass and gravity?
How do gravity and friction interact?
Standards:
SPS8: Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information to explain the relationships among force, mass, and motion.
SPS8.c. Analyze and interpret data to identify the relationship between mass and gravitational force for falling objects.
Open up this lesson's note document in Google Classroom (click here to be taken straight to today's files). Answer the following question in the Warm Up section of the notes page:
A large crate is placed on the bed of a truck but is not tied down.
As the truck accelerates forward, the crate slides across the bed until it hits the tailgate. Explain what causes this.

In today's task, you will analyze mass vs weight data on different planets. Then, you will then answer a few questions about gravity and falling objects.
You will now complete the next formative assessment for this class. The assessment is located in Illuminate.
Please make sure you try your best on these CFAs. You will typically have 1-2 per week and the results will be used to determine what we focus on in whole group sessions, as well as whether you need to attend small-group sessions for extra help. It is important that we have an accurate picture of your understanding so far!
Login to Illuminate using your Launchpad and complete the assessment titled: HCS_22-23_Physical Science Formative 4 (if you get an error code when attempting to log into illuminate please let Mrs. Raines know so you can get a quick code link)
NOTE: once you finish CFA#4 you can review your responses for the first 3 CFA's in illuminate.
