Essential Questions:
What is my current level of knowledge of physical science?
How strong are my data analysis skills?
Standards:
SEP4: Construct, analyze, and/or interpret graphical displays of data and/or large data sets to identify linear and nonlinear relationships.
Use graphical displays (e.g., maps, charts, graphs, and/or tables) of large data sets to identify temporal and spatial relationships.
We want to welcome you to Physical Science and your first day of using this site to access your assigned work! For today, we want to ease you into this platform and also get an idea of what your current level of knowledge looks like. You will be completing two tasks today- a course diagnostic, and a graphical analysis question set.
You will now complete the diagnostic test for this class. The assessment is located in Illuminate and must be proctored through GoGuardian. Once you are ready to take your test look for Physical Science listed in your GoGuardian chat and send Mrs. Rains a message requesting the password.
Please make sure you try your best on this test as it is important that we have an accurate picture of your understanding of the material coming into the course. If you think you might know something about the question, attempt to answer it. If you know absolutely nothing about the question, consider skipping it and leaving it unanswered.
Login to Illuminate using your Launchpad and complete the Physical Science assessment.
Technical help with Illuminate:
Video demonstration of how to take an assessment in Illuminate (note though the view references the Chemistry formula sheet the process is the same for both courses).
After completing your pre-test, you will need to log in to today's assignment in Google Classroom. A direct link has been provided below. This task is a review of the main types of graphs, followed by practice questions. This is material you should be familiar with already, but if you find that you are struggling, please attend my office hours today.
