McDonough High School Social Studies Department
My name is Alex Adams and I am originally from Jackson, Tennessee. This is my 3rd year teaching at McDonough High and I taught for 3 years at Griffin High School prior to coming here. I began my teaching career at Hickory Flat Elementary School, first as a Substitute then as a Para Professional and then as a 5th grade teacher. Most of my experience with students over the past 3 decades has been via coordinating enrichment programs at: Morehouse School of Medicine (MedPrep), Howard University's College of Pharmacy (HU High School Summer Science Program) and Tuskegee's College of Veterinary Medicine (Vet Step I & II). Most of my past students would say that I enjoy engaging them in discussions about life after high school and how they should take advantage of all high school has to offer i.e., dual enrollment, work-base learning and various pathway courses to make that transition into adulthood with confidence and some basic skills.
Subject Areas Taught: World Geography, Current Issues, American Government (Civics) & Personal Finance/Economics
