Cadet must pass a safety test before they ever touch an air rifle and they also have to go through three weeks worth of try-outs.

The cadet is expected to be physically fit, academically smart, and be able to drill.

The cadet will use a map to run a course through various types of terrain to find control marks spread throughout the park that you are running in.
Through this team, cadets will know and be able to recall information from various Naval Science textbooks and compete with their team at meets in Area 12.
