Welcome to Gifted Education!
I am excited to serve as the Gifted Support Teacher for Kindergarten through 5th grade this school year. With 20 years of teaching experience, I am passionate about helping students think critically, solve complex problems, and develop their unique talents through engaging, rigorous, and meaningful learning experiences.
I look forward to partnering with families as we encourage students to explore their creativity, curiosity, and love of learning. Together, we can help every child reach their fullest potential.
Is My Child Gifted?
Many parents wonder whether their child may be a candidate for gifted services. Bright children and gifted children often share similar characteristics, but they are not always the same.
A bright child often knows the answers, enjoys learning, works hard, and performs well in school. A gifted child frequently asks thought-provoking questions, demonstrates exceptional curiosity, makes unique connections between ideas, learns new concepts quickly, and approaches problems from original perspectives. Gifted children may also display intense interests, advanced reasoning, or creativity beyond what is typically expected for their age.
Every child is unique, and no single characteristic determines giftedness. For this reason, multiple criteria are used when considering students for gifted eligibility.
