What is Outdoorsman Club?
Do you prefer being outside rather than being inside? Do you want to learn more about the world around you and how to enjoy it to its fullest? Then the outdoorsman club is for you. This is a club that will meet once a month. Both boys and girls are welcome. We will explore all things outdoors. Some of the topics we may learn more about are listed below, but in our first meeting we will discuss what topics and adventures we would like to learn more about. See you all soon...in the great outdoors!
We will meet four times on campus and four times off campus. The on campus times are after school, 3pm to 4pm. Pick up in the car lane.
Monthly meeting dates and topics!
September 11th: Archery with the Department of Natural Resources
October 8th Field trip to Fortson 4H Camp Sign up required and Payment.
Wilderness Survival and Ichthylogy/Fishing
November 5th: Field trip to Fortson 4H Camp Sign up required and Payment
Zip Line and Rock Wall
December 11th: Wildlife ID with the Department of Natural Resources
January 15th: TBD (Trying to get a first aid or fire building class)
February 12th: TBD with the Department of Natural Resources
March 11th: Field trip to Fortson 4H Camp Sign up required and Payment
Pond Ecology and Archery
May 6th: Field trip to Fortson 4H Camp Sign up required and Payment
Canoeing and Entomology/Bugs
Field Trip to Fortson Information:
Estimated cost for the October, March and May field trips is about 30$
Estimated cost for the November (Rock Wall and Zip Line) is about 55$
Transportation is not provided, Parents will need to drop off and pick up student at Fortson 4H Camp in Hampton.
Drop off is 1pm
Pick up is 5pm.
Individual sign up for these field trips will be available closer to those dates.
