Classroom Expectations

1. Respect the Space & the People in It

   • Treat others with kindness. No talking over people, no side conversations.

   • Respect all opinions during discussions—even if you don’t agree.

2. Be Present & Prepared

   • Bring your materials every day: Chromebook, notebook, pens, texts, etc.

   • Come with your brain ON—no sleeping in class!
     
     

3. No Phones. Period.
   
   

   • Devices must be off and put away bell-to-bell per Henry County Policy.
     
     

   • Repeated violations will result in progressive discipline.
     
     

4. Participate With Purpose

   • This isn't silent reading time—you are expected to engage, ask questions, join discussions, and try.

   • Even if you don’t like the book, bring that effort. I see it and I respect it.
     
     

5. Deadlines Matter

   • While I cannot deduct points for late work, missing deadlines will affect your pace, your progress, and your peace—so stay on top of it!

   • Work that is late may not receive immediate feedback and may take longer to be graded.

   • No surprises. No excuses. Just communication.
     If you’re having a legitimate issue, talk to me before the due date so we can come up with a plan together.

6. Keep It Cute, Keep It Clean

   • No inappropriate language, gestures, or behavior—this is a grown, safe space.

   • We’re giving mature, respectful, ready-for-the-world energy.
     
     

Classroom Policies

ZAPP Zero Policy

ZAPP opportunities are provided each week and are due back by Friday (the next day). In order to receive an opportunity to ZAPP missing assignments each week, the student must complete all missing work from the current week within three days of this written contract for those assignments to be graded before the current end of the grading period. If the student completes the work outside of that time frame, the work will be graded before or by the school's ZAPP deadline at the teacher's convenience. If the work is not completed within the time frame, the grade will stay as missing ("M") in Infinite Campus. A grade replacement opportunity can br provided at the teacher's discretion or if one is presented to the class.

📲 Cell Phone Policy

• Zero tolerance for devices during instruction. They must be stored away.

• Violations will be documented and referred to the administration per district policy.
  
  

✋🏾 Bathroom Breaks

• Bathroom breaks are 10 minutes each class 

💻 Academic Integrity

• Plagiarism = automatic zero.

• Copying, using AI without permission, or cheating of any kind will be reported.

• Be original. I’d rather see your honest effort than a perfect fake.
