"The class really felt like a family."
"The people and environment, it was very bright and positive."
"Well, frankly, I love the atmosphere. Very encouraging and open. Made it easier to speak out loud without fear of embarrassment of shame."
"My teacher always looked to improve our writing skills."
"I liked the stories and books our teacher picked for us to read. I think they were all intriguing in their own way. I also liked the freedom we had (getting to choose between presenting or writing, having freedom on what piece of literature we wanted to work on, etc.)
WELCOME!
A veteran educator, having taught at Lamar County High School (my alma mater), Luella High School, and Impact Academy and having served at Flint River Technical College (Now Southern Crescent Technical College), I am still excited to begin another year of teaching and learning. In my second year at the Academy for Advanced Studies, I welcome you, "My Favorite Student," to your last high school English class. Together, we will Begin with the End in Mind, starting the first day preparing for the ultimate end of this school year, your high school graduation.
Congratulations! Good Job! You made it to your senior year! If Better is Possible, Good is Not Enough! (Juniors taking the course early, we welcome you to our class of seniors.)
I look forward to engaging in a successful senior year with you and your family. Students, you will have the opportunity to communicate with me on a daily basis in the building. You and your family may email me, call me, or text me with any concerns to make your time in British Literature a worthwhile learning experience.
