Attendance
Your child coming to school every day sets them up for academic success. If your child is sick please inform the teacher and office. Please make sure that they have a doctor's note upon return or a parent note (only 5 written letters accepted for the year) excusing the absence. Transportation changes will not be allowed after 1:30. Please be sure to limit late check-ins and early check-outs. Students need to be in school for the full day.
Arrival/Dismissal
School doors for car riders will open at 7:10 AM. Breakfast is served until 7:35 AM. Students should be in class no later than 7:35 AM as our Hornet Morning Meetings begin at 7:40 AM to begin our day on the right foot. The tardy bell rings at 7:35 and at that time guardians must escort their students into the building to sign them in. Students will be sent to class with a tardy note to record their attendance.
Lunch Procedures
Please complete the Nutrition application online for student school meals. Students will eat lunch at their assigned time daily. Parents/Guardians who are recorded in the parent portal information can join their students during lunch beginning on August 19th. Please make sure you have ID and understand that no other students will be allowed to sit with you and your student at this time. Visitors will check in with the front office and be expected to check out with the front office as soon as the lunch period is over. Parents will not visit classrooms or go out to recess with the class. Parents are only permitted to eat with their own child(ren) at the round tables. Other students are not permitted to sit with you and your child.
Classroom Visitors/Volunteers
All visitors must check in with the front office to receive a visitor's pass. Visitors will not be allowed to visit the classroom during instructional time. We have an open door policy and want to ensure that we are maximizing instruction. We ask that you arrange a time to meet with the teacher before/after school hours. We are happy to deliver a message or item(s) for your child to ensure that the instruction is not interrupted.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Ms. Kim Lunn or Mrs. Kim Troutman for more information.
