As an EIP teacher, I am passionate about helping students grow academically and reach their fullest potential. I provide targeted, small-group instruction and individualized support to strengthen students’ reading and math skills. I believe every child can learn with the right encouragement, strategies, and opportunities. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, build confidence, and celebrate their progress. Being an EIP teacher allows me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of my students every day.

I'm originally from Brooklyn, New York, and I believe true learning begins with a grounded mind, body, and soul, a philosophy I bring into my classroom every day. I'm a graduate of Hampton University, and I've spent 23 years teaching young learners. Currently, I'm an EIP teacher at Oakland Elementary, where for the past two years I've helped students build strong foundations in reading and math using tools like IReady, UFLI, and cooperative learning. I'm a reading specialist with ESL and Special Education endorsements, and I recently completed my 200-hour yoga certification, which I weave into my practice through yoga, mindfulness, and breathwork to help my students feel calm, centered, and ready to learn. Outside of school, I'm a proud boy mom to 4 sons and an 8-year-old grandson, and I share my home with my Belgian Malinois, Anubis, and my Jardin parrot, Samir.
