Dutchtown Middle School seeks to foster a safe and positive school community where all stakeholders are both actively and consistently engaged. We will commit ourselves daily towards sustaining high expectations for teaching and learning, nurturing positive relationships, and celebrating the collective success of our school and community.
In truth, honor, and integrity, Dutchtown Middle School will create an environment of excellence in all that we do.
Students in grade 7 will study aspects of world geography. Students will gain an understanding of the modern cultural and physical landscape of Southwest Asia (Middle East), Africa, and South and East Asia. Students will compare and assess the human environment interaction of these regions by examining the distribution, pollution, and use of natural resources in the areas. Students will explore factors influencing the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services in each region through trade and world influences. Finally, students will examine historical events in the regions to determine how governments, nations, economies and culture were formed during periods of conflict and change.

As a teacher, it is my responsibility to make sure that my classroom is a safe learning environment for all students. Good conduct is a very important component of a productive learning environment; therefore, it is of the utmost importance for each child to understand the classroom rules, expectations, and consequences of his or her action. The first week of school will be devoted to explaining the expectations and rules of the classroom here at Dutchtown Middle School. I have high expectation for my 7th grade students and expect them to follow all school and classroom rules, policies, and procedures that Henry County has put in place. Your cooperation and understanding is greatly needed in order to make this a successful school year for all. Thank you!
