This is my twentieth year at Mt. Carmel Elementary. Currently, I am serving as Mt. Carmel's Instructional Effectiveness Facilitator (IEF) to strategically support our school's instruction and student learning goals. Previously, I was an Early Intervention Program (EIP) Teacher for grades 2-3, where I served students through small group instruction and provided targeted reading and math interventions. Additionally, I have seven years of prior experience at Mt. Carmel as a teacher of exceptional students, grades K-3. I hold my Coaching, Math, and Dyslexia Endorsements. I was also pleased to represent Mt. Carmel as Teacher of the Year for the 2012-2013 school year.
Before joining the Henry County School System, I had experience as a private school educator and home educator while living abroad in France for two years. Prior to teaching, I had many years of case management experience working with students and adults with disabilities in both the public and private sectors as a Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE) and Certified Case Manager (CCM). I also love attending and participating in my church. In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and cooking.
My husband, Bruce, is the Missions and Connections Pastor at Oak Hill Church in Williamson, GA. We have a daughter, Allison, and a son, Josh. We have been blessed to be a part of the Mt. Carmel family since 2002 and know that you will be as well! Below are some pictures of my greatest treasures. They are the biggest supporters of all that I do!
About me
I became a teacher to make a difference in students' lives. I began teaching in New Orleans, LA. I've taught K/1, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and middle school. I've taught in the general education classroom and I've also worked with students with disabilities. I've been an instructional coach for the last 6 years and have taught in Henry County Schools for 20 years.
As an Instructional Effectiveness Facilitator (IEF), I play a crucial role in supporting both teachers and students to ensure high-quality instruction and academic success. I work to enhance teaching practices and improve student learning outcomes through teacher support, modeling, coaching cycles, and providing professional development.
