We are so proud of our P-TECH and FCCLA students who volunteered their time to watch staff members’ children during a meeting. Even though they were out of school themselves, they chose to step up and lend a helping hand. Their kindness, willingness to serve, and commitment to supporting our Bearcat family make us proud!
Our P-TECH students volunteered their time to help get Pam’s Closet ready for the new school year! This special closet was created by the elementary school in honor of Pam Payne, a truly wonderful person who made a lasting impact on our school community. What a meaningful way to honor her legacy while continuing to serve and support our Bearcat families!
Our P-TECH & Instructional Practice students were excited to help deliver the first round of PowerPacks to our elementary students! This wonderful program provides families with a little extra food for the weekend and helps support our school community. We are proud of our students for lending a helping hand and making a difference!
Our P-TECH and Instructional Practice students delivered cookies to our staff as a small way to show their appreciation for all they do each day. We are thankful for the amazing people who support our students and help them succeed!
Students had the opportunity to rotate through Coach Talley's PE class as part of their Teaching and Training experience. Students got to see firsthand how physical education teachers create engaging activities, manage a classroom, and encourage students to participate and work together. These hands-on experiences give our students a closer look at the many different responsibilities and opportunities within education!
Our P-TECH students spent time in the elementary library reading with our younger students. This was a great opportunity for them to practice working with children, build relationships, and experience the joy of helping a young reader grow.
It’s hands-on learning with a little fun and a lot of smiles along the way!
It has been a great start to the school year in both our P-TECH and Instructional Practices classes! We have already had several exciting opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and become more involved in our school community. Mrs. Allen visited with the students and introduced them to PowerPacks and Pam’s Closet, explaining what these programs are, who they serve, and how they can help. We will be working alongside her throughout the year to support these important programs. Mrs. Silva met with them to explain what the experience will look like and discuss her expectations. The students will have the opportunity to work with younger students, serve as positive role models, and begin experiencing what it is like to be part of an educational setting. They are eager to get started and very excited about this opportunity!
A big thank-you to these wonderful Bearcat alumni for taking time out of their busy schedules to speak with our newest P-TECH students! These ladies shared valuable advice about making the most of high school, preparing for college, and developing the skills needed to succeed beyond graduation. We are so grateful for their willingness to share their experiences and help our future Bearcats prepare for their next steps!
P-TECH Cohort 2 is working hard over the summer to prepare for the TSI!
Our P-TECH students are off to a great start! They are making excellent progress in their college courses while continuing to show their commitment to serving our school and community. Recently, students helped deliver PowerPacks at the elementary school and enjoyed spending time supporting our elementary classrooms. We are so proud of these students and the hard work, kindness, and dedication they continue to show. What a great way to wrap up a successful first semester of P-TECH!
Our 1st PTECH Cohort! Eleven 8th graders interviewed and were selected into the Teaching & Learning P-TECH Program.
Our P-TECH students enjoyed hearing from a panel of students who have completed dual credit courses in high school. They shared valuable advice and real-life experiences to help our students prepare for college success. Thank you to our panelists for sharing their insight and encouraging our future Bearcats!
Our P-TECH students are staying motivated this summer by coming in for TSI exam prep! Passing the TSI exams is an important step toward enrolling in dual credit courses and getting a head start on college. We are proud of their hard work and dedication!

What is P-TECH?
The Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-TECH) initiative offers an open-enrollment program that creates workforce pathways aligned with high-demand, high-wage fields throughout the state. Students enrolled in the P-TECH program work toward an associate degree while gaining hands-on work experience.
Texas P-TECH programming is inspired by the national effort to refine career and technical education. Industry and IHE partnerships with P-TECH campuses ensure that students graduate college- and career-ready. Business and industry partners provide career mentoring, host site visits, offer paid internships to enrolled students, and serve on advisory councils to improve alignment of programming with workforce needs.
Students who graduate from the P-TECH program enter the workforce with proven, in-demand skillsets, making them top candidates in their chosen industry.
