• Classroom Management (CHAMPS) - The CHAMPS course are focused on the expectations for building relationships with students and establishing classroom management practices. Part I should be completed prior to Tuesday, August 8, 2023, and can be accessed through PowerSchool Professional Learning using Course Code #22944, Section #36882 - CHAMPS for New Teacher Academy 2023 (Part 1).  HCPS Credentials are required.   Part II (for beginning teachers) will be completed in person on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. 

• Getting Started with Schoology - This self-paced course from Schoology introduces the foundational concepts and skills essential to getting started with Schoology. Access using Course Code 14397. This course should be completed by Friday, August 11, 2023. 

• New Teacher Academy English Learner Requirement - All schools in HCPS have English learners. This online workshop will give you some basic tools and resources to start the year supporting your ELs.  Join the course through PowerSchool Professional Learning using Course Code #12232 -  New Teacher Academy English Learner Requirement . HCPS Credentials are required.  This workshop must be completed by September 29, 2023. 

• Instructional Content Workshops - Offered in person on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 and Thursday, August 10, 2023 at J. R. Tucker High School.

Harmony SEL is a social and emotional learning program for Pre-K-6 grade students, accessible online and at no cost. Harmony fosters knowledge, skills, and attitudes students need to develop healthy identities, create meaningful relationships, and engage productively by providing SEL learning resources, tools, and strategies.  Join through PowerSchool Professional Learning using Course Code #22817, Section #26538 - Harmony SEL Introductory Training New Teacher Academy SY 23/24. • HCPS School Mental Health Back-to-School Retreat Training - Offered in person on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Hermitage High School auditorium. Sign up in PowerSchool PL Section #26502. 

• Interconnected Systems Framework (ISF): Implementing a Comprehensive Mental Health System -- This asychronous three-module course is an overview of the big ideas and process of implementing a comprehensive school mental health system, the Interconnected Systems Framework. This course must be completed by Friday, August 18, 2023. Join through PowerSchool PL on sections #26539 (Module 1), #36802 (Module 2), and #36804 (module 3).  

• Section 504 Case Management Annual Training - This course is hybrid, and section numbers through PowerSchool PL will be COMING SOON!

•  Surviving and Thriving: Trauma and Resilience - This asychronous course presented by John Richardson-Lauve of Childsavers is designed to help you anticipate, recognize and mitigate behaviors that may arise due to trauma. Presented through a resilience lens, this self-paced workshop reminds you how to be proactive and responsive to student needs on a social emotional level first so that when “the books come out” students are able to learn.
