Weekly Update 9-3-26

What’s Going on in 5th Grade

Click on the link above to read about academic plans and updates for next week. I think we’ve had a fantastic first week in room 305.

I am impressed with the work habits of my students. Everyone has selected a book to read for their book report and obtained parent signature. Students should already be reading in these books both at home and at school. 2/3 of the class brought in their Student of the Week Posters EARLY! That’s amazing. Keep up the great time management skills.

I’m very thankful for our bulky classroom air conditioning unit because the halls and the outdoors were unbearable today. Fortunately, we were able to rearrange our schedule to go outside at 9:30. There was still shade over most of the blacktop. What a great day to have our School Spirit Night at Gelati Celesti. I hope to be there around 7:00. If you’ve never tried it, “Just Ask.”

This afternoon students again came home with their Friday Folders. I will send these home at the end of every week. Enclosed in the folder is a Weekly Progress Report on white cardstock for the first quarter. On that I’ll make brief notes if needed. Please sign and return that cardstock page in the folder every Monday. The other graded papers and flyers inside may be taken out and kept at home.

Thank you to the parents who have purchased several items from the Classroom Wishlist. (Yes, I received more this week!)

Student of the Week

Students enjoyed Eli sharing his poster. They especially liked his AI manipulated picture with his brother. We look forward to learning about Isla next week!

Multiplication Facts

Please help your child study and learn multiplication facts through 10 if they do not yet know them quickly and accurately. They will have a timed and graded math fact check in just a few weeks.
