Number Talks

Routine: Students will think individually to mentally solve interesting problems in a variety of ways. Have students give a thumbs up when they have one answer, and then more fingers when they have more answers or strategies. Then have students share solution strategies with a partner, small group or the whole class. Focus on the solution strategies more than they solution.
