Welcome Ms. Hill!

GYSA administrator

Greetings GYSA Families!

I am Linda Hill, assistant principal and will proudly serve as your administrator for SY 2021-22. It will be an honor and privilege to work in partnership with you as we ensure that our students receive the quality education that they so richly deserve. Before coming to Wilder Middle School, I was a very successful secondary English teacher in Washington, D. C. and Montgomery County, Maryland where I worked with advanced students. The parents were very involved and supportive which made my teaching experience even more rewarding. I came to Wilder as a 7th grade English teacher and in my first year was named Wilder’s Teacher of the Year and went on to become one of the 5 finalists for Henrico’s Teacher of the Year. During my second year at Wilder, I became the department chair of English and an administrative aide. Because of my strong instructional leadership, 3 years later I was honored to become an assistant principal at Wilder with a focus on 8th grade and English. Currently I am still the 8th grade administrator, and will be the content leader for Social Studies, Electives, and GYSA.

I continue to be a strong instructional leader and very effective in developing positive, productive relationships with stakeholders. I firmly believe in an open-door policy for communication and welcome feedback, ideas, and suggestions. I am very excited to partner with my GYSA families and look forward to meeting you soon. Thank you in advance for welcoming me into the GYSA family. Together as Wilder Wolverines, we will ROAR!

James River Field Experience

Good Times!

In partnership with the James River Association, rising sixth graders in the new GYSA program spent the day on the river! They learned firsthand what factors we use to measure water quality, as well as their own impact on our local watershed. Students explored Presquile Island, a National Wildlife Refuge. We look forward to continuing this fun and educational experience!
