What a wonderful first week we had in fifth grade! Ms. Messer and I enjoyed getting to know each of you and are very excited for what the year is going to hold! Thank you for being patient with us and learning with us as we get acquainted with the new normal. Encourage your learners to stay in a quiet area and remain seated unless instructed otherwise and maintain focus. As we start completing assignments it is important that all assignments are completed on time and to the best of their ability. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Read below for subject specific updates!

Math: We will spend the next two weeks on understanding and solving word problems. Students may use calculators for computation.

Language Arts: We are going to be looking at how books make us think, feel, and relate to the world around us. We will also begin out first Virtual Reader's Response Journal.

Writing: We will continue to work our first writing piece and start the editing process.

Science: We will finish up scientific investigations and begin studying the Earth's layers.

Thank You for your support and we are looking forward to a great year!
