Thank you for visiting the HS Art Dept. site, we will be sharing info. on our curriculum, art courses, student art opportunities, art honor society, and other afterschool programs.
We believe that every student possesses innate creativity and expressive potential. A comprehensive arts education—encompassing visual arts—is essential for nurturing these abilities. The arts are not supplementary; they are fundamental to developing critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and cultural literacy. Through the arts, students explore diverse perspectives, engage in interdisciplinary learning, and cultivate skills that are transferable across all areas of study and life.
The 2025 HS Art show was a success!
Thank you to all of our Art students who participated, and the community for coming out to support everyone!

AP Art student Ellie Kushnir selected for The Garrison Art Center Mentor Program which was established in 1988 as a means to encourage and guide high school age students with a particular interest in art and who are prepared for more responsibility to complete an independent study project under the guidance of a mentor. Ellie described the program as
"my first real opportunity to expand my view on art. It's a unique experience having a professional give you instant feedback, as well as individually teaching something based on my work. We often meet for hours at a time. I find myself noticing things I wouldn't pay mind to before and I feel more accomplished. I am currently working on watercolor pieces with my mentor, and I am about to start my final piece that will go into the art show!"
