After you have completed the online registration for your child and the school has reviewed your application, then the technology department will contact you by email with specific next steps, including device pick-up information.

Acceptance of a district device requires compliance with district use guidelines and the personal liability of up to a $150 fee if the device is lost, stolen, or damaged before being returned to the district.

Devices must be returned to the district at the conclusion of the 2020-2021 school year or when your child returns to On-Campus Instruction, whichever happens first

No Internet? No Problem.

• Having a reliable internet connection is preferred when using Google Classroom. However, Google allows you to download documents from a Google Classroom with an internet connection and use them offline. Families may use our parking lots to access our FREE WiFi to establish an internet connection. Using an electronic device or Chromebook, the student can log into their Google Classrooms, download their assignments, and then work at home without an internet connection. Later, the device needs to establish an internet connection (doesn't have to be the same as before) and upload the documents back to the Google Classroom.

Location #1: Hempstead Elementary Parking Lot (East Side. The parking lot where the buses drop off)

Location #2: Hempstead Elementary Front Office Parking Lot

Location #3: Hempstead Middle School/High School Parking Lot in front of the Bobcat Den

You may park in any of these parking lots and choose to join "HISD-BYOD". You should not need a password.
