What is ALEKS?
This school year, the math department is going to utilize ALEKS to supplement our learning instead of Khan Academy. ALEKS is an adaptive, all-digital supplement to our math curriculum, and it directly correlates with our Reveal math book. ALEKS is basically a cycle of assessment, personalized learning, and reinforcement, and the program determines exactly what a student knows, doesn’t know, and most importantly what they are ready to learn. ALEKS instructs students on topics they are most ready to learn through a personalized learning path, and periodically reassesses student’s knowledge to ensure that topics are also retained.
To access ALEKS, you need to go to Clever.com and select the "McGraw Hill" app.
What is IXL?
IXL is a personalized digital learning space that covers K-12 curriculum and is used all around the country. Rather than provide students with the same skill based questions from a worksheet, IXL helps gauge students knowledge levels and helps improve the skills they feel need sharpening.
What is Khan Academy?
Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom.
