Mental Health Corner

Hello Bobcats! 

My name is Conrad Akins, and I am your school's Mental Health Professional (MHP). I look forward to another successful academic school year here at Hamilton HS (6-12). My role is designed to support 9th graders in the Building Assets Reducing Risks (BARR) program as well as all students in the general education setting. As part of the counseling staff at Hamilton High School, my goal is to help students understand their emotions, educate about evidenced based practices to cope with stressors, as well as provide culturally sensitive practices to students and their family. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and passionate about mental health work. I want to be a role model for healthy living. I will advocate for those students struggling with mental health symptoms to promote academic progress, to overcome mental health barriers and ultimately "Build a life worth living."
