There’s nothing more empowering than a library card. Through access to technology, media resources, and educational programs, libraries provide people of all ages the opportunity to pursue their dreams and passions. September is Library Card-Sign-up Month. If you don't have a library card, visit your local library to discover what you've been missing.

Throughout September, we're celebrating the value of libraries! Do you love the library’s summer reading program, storytime, or book club? Checking out DVDs, magazines, or cake pans? Do you simply enjoy getting lost in the magic of a good book?

College Kick Off Day Celebration

At this event you'll have the opportunity to explore colleges/universities and careers, and the importance of budgeting to reach your goals! We will have activities and plenty of gear and small prizes from colleges all over the country! Come to the library to check what the Counseling Department and the Library have prepared for you!

Parents: Learn more about CalKids, a state program that gives children in California a jump start on saving for college! Join us on October 10th to sign up and receive $500! For questions regarding student eligibility, please confirm with Mrs. Michelle Ramirez, our parent Liaison! Parents Must check-in on Lobby Guard in the front office, then enter through the Library doors.

We've concocted a creepy section of spooky boo-ks; and what better author to shine at this time of the year than Edgar Allan Poe!

-Plug in your head phones, turn up the volume and have a good listen audiobook reading of "The Raven", Poe's most famous poem.

DVMS 2nd Annual
"Pi Day" Celebration

How Many pi digits can you memorize?

Join us for a fun-filled Pi Day celebration at DVMS on Thursday, March 14th! The DVMS Library and Math Department are teaming up to host this exciting event. Swing by the Library between 11:46 AM and 1:46 PM to indulge in a delicious slice of pie or cake while engaging in hands-on activities to explore the wonders of Pi.

One of the highlights of the day will be "The Digits of Pi" Contest open to both students and staff. The rules are straightforward: participants are invited to showcase their Pi knowledge by reciting as many digits as they can.
It promises to be a day filled with learning, fun, and perhaps a bit of friendly competition.

We had a great turnout, scholars were excited to come in and recite their memorized digits. Our staff did an excellent job at participating.

Thank you Mrs. Carr -Site Math Coach, for sharing all those "Delicious Pi Problems" for the event activities!

We want to send out a huge congratulations to our 2nd Annual "PI DAY" DVMS Student Winner, Noemi Martinez! She took the title "Master Of Pi 2024" home with a whopping 231 digits of Pi!!

We excited to share two special announcements that promise to add an extra dose of inspiration and wonder to your week. Firstly, in our continuous effort to support your love for reading and learning, we are thrilled to offer you a free book titled "EyeDiscover: Solar Eclipse". This fascinating read will take you on a journey through the science of solar eclipses, enriching your knowledge and sparking your curiosity about the wonders of the universe.

*This interactive eBook will be available until April 20.

Additionally, in celebration of the upcoming solar eclipse, our library will be hosting a special live broadcast of this celestial event.
We invite you to join us for this remarkable experience, where you'll have the chance to witness the beauty and majesty of the solar eclipse right from the comfort of our library.
The broadcast is scheduled for 10:06Am-12:04PM, during which we will provide a variety of activities, including coloring pages and headbands, all themed around the eclipse, to enrich the overall experience of the event!

Custodians SteveO and Aaron delivered a presentation on Daily Recycling at the school. Did you know that we recycle 20,000 trays each month? That amounts to 1,500 pounds of cardboard monthly! ♻️

We are thrilled to extend to you a special invitation to join us for an exciting Earth Day event that promises to be both enlightening and engaging for our community. This unique celebration is a collaborative effort between our school's librarian and our school parent liaison, and we are honored to announce that we have successfully garnered the support and presence of esteemed guests including the city mayor, a representative from the City of Hemet, members of the cabinet, CR & R waste management, and the public librarian!

Michelle, Kenia, Steve-O & Aaron put on an amazing fun filled community event and PLUS was happy to help with decorating and running some of the booths alongside ASB!
