The students that receive my services have Individualized Education Plans which specify specific goals and measurement requirements per individual. I feel that if a student is not adequately progressing, then my job is to re-evaluate the student's needs to get them on the right track. Each student's learning is monitored on a continuous basis.
Student are also graded within my classroom on a daily basis on their effort and conduct. I just a the standard based grading scale to measure this. Student can earn a 1-not meeting expectations, 2-meeting expectations, but needs reminders/redirects, 3-met expectations independently and appropriately, and 4- went above and beyond in meeting expectations. This allows me to monitor their engagement and participation in lessons and make adjustments as needed.
Twice a year (January and June)a progress report will be sent home; which will reflect the progress a student has made towards his/her IEP goals.
