Grading

We utilize Standards Based Grading and assess students based on the Common Core published standards. 

Standards Based Grading 

Students' grades will be based on their understanding of specific concepts. Instead of receiving a letter grade, students receive grades in multiple different learning targets and can see which concepts they understood well and which they need to improve on. Below is the scale that will be used to show student understanding of concepts. 

4 Exceeds Grade Level Standard

You demonstrate understanding beyond the standard consistently and independently.

3 Meets Grade Level Standard

You demonstrate understanding of grade level standards consistently and independently.

2 Partially or Progressing with Grade Level Standard

You demonstrate partial understanding of grade level standards with or without support.

1 Does Not Meet Grade Level Standard

You demonstrate minimal (or no) understanding of grade level standards and does not meet grade level standards even with support.
